My first look at Stick 'Em

I stumbled across Stick 'Em, which turns out to be the first ever video slot from Hacksaw Gaming, released back in 2019. It catches your eye immediately with a quirky animated character called Canny the Can hanging about the side of the grid. It plays out on 5 reels with 1,024 ways to win. With an RTP of 96.1% and medium volatility, it feels spot on for a casual player like myself rather than a high roller.

Checking the paytable, the highest value symbol is the Money bag, which pays 3x if you land five on a line. You have got your usual Gold coins, Diamonds, and Cash in the middle, while Bones, Bottles, and Dice make up the lower values. The Thumbs Up icon is the one to watch out for, as it pays decent money and triggers the sticky mechanics.

Bonus features in Stick 'Em

The sticky re-spins were the highlight for me. Whenever I landed three Thumbs Up symbols, they locked in place while the rest of the reels re-spun. This keeps going as long as new thumbs land, potentially filling the screen for the max win of 2,048x your stake. It is a simple mechanic, but it gets proper exciting when the screen starts filling up.

I also had a go at the Wheel of Fortune, triggered by three bonus symbols, where you can win up to 1,000x. Then there are the free spins, which trigger if you land enough scatters, giving you up to 15 spins. Just mind that you cannot trigger the bonus wheel while the free spins are running, but it is still good fun.

Is Stick 'Em worth a spin?

All in all, Stick 'Em is a cracking debut from Hacksaw Gaming that works smoothly on mobile. While there is no progressive jackpot, the solid potential and sticky wins make up for it. It definitely sticks out from the crowd and is well worth a few quid if you fancy something a bit different.
